PostFinance top scorer
The PostFinance Top Scorer is awarded at the end of the season to the ice hockey player who has scored the most points, i.e. goals and assists , for his team in the Swiss National League (formerly National League A) and Swiss League (National League B) during the main round . The current top scorer of a team wears a yellow flame helmet and a flame jersey in all championship games. The top scorer of the entire league is named PostFinance Top Scorer of the respective league after the qualifying games .
purpose
The “PostFinance Top Scorer” concept was introduced in the 2002/03 season. With this, PostFinance wants to promote the youngsters in Swiss ice hockey directly and sustainably. The youth department of each club receives 300 francs (NLA) or 200 francs (NLB) for each point scored in its PostFinance Top Scorer .
The Swiss Ice Hockey Association receives the same amount from PostFinance for its junior teams. The "PostFinance Top Scorer" awards are earmarked and may only be used to promote talent and train young people. Thanks to PostFinance's “Top Scorer” commitment, young Swiss ice hockey players have been supported with around 6 million francs (as of 2019) since 2002.
