The Cherusker Detmold started in the third-class Westfalenliga in the 2017/18 season. There, the team was able to win all games and rose to the second-class Oberliga Westfalen in 2018. At the same time, the Detmold reached the final of the West German Futsal Cup. On the way there, the team with wooden posts eliminated Schwerte , the Futsal Panthers Cologne and the Black Panthers Bielefeld from three teams from the first-class Futsal League West . In the final, however, the Detmolder failed 3: 4 at FSP Turbo Minden . On December 1, 2018, the Cheruscans achieved a 31-0 victory over FC Gütersloh in the Oberliga , in which Alexander Felker alone scored 13 goals. At the end of the season, the Detmolders under coach Konstantinos Triantafillidis managed to get promoted to the first-class Futsalliga West one matchday before the end of the season.

Soccer

The Post SV Detmold footballer played in lower leagues for many years and was only able to establish himself in the district league A in the second half of the 1990s. From 2005 to 2012 and since 2013, the Detmolders played in the district league. The greatest success was the runner-up in 2007, one point behind VfL Lüerdissen . The greatest success after the merger was third place in the 2017/18 season. In the same season, the Detmolders caused a sensation in the first round of the Westphalia Cup, when the team prevailed against the upper division Rot Weiss Ahlen on penalties . In the second round, the Detmold failed after penalty shootout at VfL Holsen .

The home games of Post TSV Detmold are played in the Werrestadion, which has a capacity of 2,500 spectators. The game is played on artificial turf , the playing surface being surrounded by a running track with four lanes. On July 20, 1985, Arminia Bielefeld played a home game in the Intertoto Cup against Beitar Jerusalem in the Werra Stadium.
