The power of force ( Power of Attorney ) is an American film drama by Howard Himelstein from the year 1995 .

action

The film begins with the criminal trial against a man who is believed to be an assistant to mafia patron Joseph Scassi. Paul Dellacroce is one of the two prosecutors. His colleague of the prosecution threatens Scassi he was as next turn . The accused is acquitted, which frustrates Dellacroce. Dellacroce receives a job offer from a private law firm. He accepts it after learning that he could make $ 200,000 annually. Junior partner Joan Armstrong becomes his mentor in the firm. Dellacroce learns that the firm works for Scassi. He and Armstrong are in attendance when Scassi donates a foundation to the local hospital. Dellacroce is talking to Scassi when he is arrested on the instigation of his former colleague Dellacroce. Scassi is accused of murder, among other things. Dellacroce is not initially Scassis's official defense attorney, but he is present at the bail hearing. He interferes when Armstrong fails to bail Scassi. Since he pretends to represent the absent colleague, he is still entrusted with the case. Dellacroce eventually came to believe that his client was innocent. This belief weighs on his friendship with a lawyer who continues to work for the prosecutor. Dellacroc’s brother Frankie is called as one of the witnesses. Evidence of Scassis guilt is served on Dellacroce. However, Scassi is acquitted in court. Frankie Dellacroce is murdered, Scassi is charged with the murder of Frankie.
