from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Praedecessores Nostros is an encyclical (subtitle: On Aid to Ireland ) written by Pope Pius IX. , with which he addressed an appeal to all the bishops of the world on March 25, 1847 , imploring a three-day prayer for Rome and the Holy Places and calling on the Roman clergy to donate so that the famine in Ireland could be alleviated. He referred to the duties of the Catholic Church and reminded the bishops that they are fathers and teachers of all Christians , and that it is of great kindness to bring help to the brothers in Ireland so that it can be distributed to those in need.
