Nemo certe ignorat

Nemo certe ignorat is an encyclical published on March 25, 1852 by Pope Pius IX. , he answered the questions and requests made by the Irish Synod of Bishops to the Holy See and wrote “on the discipline of the clergy ”. At first he described the harmony and understanding between the clergy of Ireland and the Holy See, and praised the ambition with which the bishops had resisted "strong storms".

In addition, Pius IX stated. his consent to the Synod of Bishops held in Dublin in 1850 and confirmed the corresponding protocol of September 11, 1850, which had been submitted to the Congregation for the Dissemination of the Faith for further processing. The Pope also addresses the Synod of Bishops in Tullamore in 1851 and refers to the decree of the Congregation for the Dissemination of the Faith, where he welcomes the proposal to found a Catholic University (cf. Optime noscitis (1854) ). He assures the Irish episcopate of full support in carrying out their tasks.

Ultimately, he exhorts the clergy to maintain the studies and expects the young clergy in particular to carefully study literature in all piety and virtue as well as in the ecclesiastical spirit, live in discipline and practice the spirit.
