The district of Pueblo Nuevo is located in the province of Ica in the region of Ica in southwest Peru . The district was founded on January 30, 1871. It has an area of ​​30.7 km². The 2017 census counted 6,640 inhabitants. In 1993 the population was 4447, in 2007 4588. The district administration is located in the 390  m high village of Pueblo Nuevo with 1544 inhabitants (as of 2017). Pueblo Nuevo is 7.5 km south-southeast of the city center of the regional and provincial capital of Ica .

Geographical location

The Pueblo Nuevo district is centrally located in the province of Ica. The district lies in the plain east of the south-flowing Río Ica . Irrigated agriculture is practiced in the desert region.

The Pueblo Nuevo district is bordered to the west by the district of Ica , on the north by the district Los Aquijes , on the east by the district Yauca del Rosario , in the southeast of the district Pachacutec , in the central south by the district Tate and on the southwest by the district Santiago .
