Incense
With incense substances are designated, the smoked can be to fragrances or active ingredients release.
Materials are used that release both smoke and fragrances (mostly in the form of essential oils ) when coking . This includes groups of substances such as tree resins , woods ( smoking wood ) and herbs .
Incense is offered in various forms. The most popular form is the incense stick , but there are also incense cones ( incense cones ). Some substances are heated in special containers with glowing charcoal, like incense . Smoking serves on the one hand to create pleasant fragrances, on the other hand it is also used for natural medicine , ritual , spiritual and as paraphernalia for magical purposes. "Bad spirits" are supposed to be driven out of rooms by smoking.
