Römersberg is the northernmost part of the community Neuental in the north Hessian Schwalm-Eder district .c

Geographical location

Römersberg is located on the southern slope of the 433 m high mountain Altenburg , on which an Iron Age ring wall known as Altenburg is located. The place is on the district road 68 from Zimmerrode to Trockenerfurth , the Autobahn 49 runs about half a kilometer east of the village.

history

Römersberg was first mentioned in 1231 as Reinbracteshusen . Until the 19th century the place was called Römershausen or Rommershausen .

In the course of the regional reform in Hesse , the previously independent municipality became a district of Neuental on January 1, 1974 by virtue of state law.

The Protestant church was built in 1872/73 by building inspector Hofmann as a neo-Gothic hall with a rectangular choir in the east and a tower with a pointed helmet in the west. The multi-part choir window that was created at the same time was made by the Marburg glazier and glass painter KJ Schultz.
