The village Trockenerfurth is a district of Borken in the north Hessian Schwalm-Eder district .
history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1258 as "siccum Erpherde" in a document from the Spieskappel monastery . The district Trockenerfurth lies west of Borken and has a size of 459 ha , of which 60 ha are forest. About 840 people live in Trockenerfurth.
The former settlement of Erfurth was in the district of Trockenerfurth.
On January 1, 1974, until then independent municipality Trockenerfurth was in the course of administrative reform in Hesse powerful state law in the city of Borken incorporated . A local district was set up for the district .
Between Trockenerfurth and Borken lies the Borkener See , the former “Altenburg IV” open-cast lignite mine , where around 9 million tons of lignite were mined from 1954 to 1975. With the recultivation in the years 1975 to 1992, the lake was created, which today is a nature reserve with its shoreline landscape .
