history

Rübhausen belonged to the Wahlfeld honors , one of the last five honors that made up the Oberpleis parish in the Bergisch Amt of Blankenberg . The village appeared in a document no later than 1572 in connection with a lease of the Rübhauser tithe by the provost of Oberpleis half to a Lambert von Rübhausen .

After the dissolution of the Duchy of Berg in 1806, Rübhausen was part of the cadastral or tax community Wahlfeld in the administrative district of the Oberpleis mayor and was incorporated into the newly formed Oberpleis municipality in 1845/46. In censuses , the village was recorded as a farm until at least 1843 . Since then, it has not grown much beyond the size it was then.
