Radek Ťoupal (born August 16, 1966 in Písek , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech ice hockey player . His younger brother Kamil Ťoupal is also a professional ice hockey player.
Career
Radek Ťoupal began his career as a hockey player at TJ Motor České Budějovice , for whose senior team he was active between 1982 and 1990 in the first division , the highest Czechoslovak division. For the 1990/91 season , the center moved within the first division to HC Dukla Trenčín . For Dukla he scored 22 goals and 54 assists in 50 main round games. As the top scorer and the best assists in the league, he was elected to the all-star team of the highest Czechoslovak league. For the 199/91 season he was committed by HPK Hämeenlinna from the Finnish SM-liiga . With the team he failed in the 1992/93 season only in the championship final.
The 1993/94 season Ťoupal spent at his ex-club HC České Budějovice in the Czech extra league, which was held for the first time after the division of Czechoslovakia . The 1994/95 season he began with the sports association DJK Rosenheim in the also newly founded German Ice Hockey League . For Bayern he scored 21 points scorer in 20 games, including six goals, before returning to HC České Budějovice in the middle of the season. At his home club he was team captain from 1997 to 1999 . Most recently, the two-time Olympian ran for Kapfenberger SV in the Austrian ice hockey league in the 2000/01 season , before ending his career at the age of 35.
Since the end of his career, Ťoupal has been running a real estate company. During the 2003/04 season he returned to HC České Budějovice as a coach and looked after the team in the relegation round, but could not prevent relegation to the first division. In the 2005/06 season he was in charge of a junior team of the club as a junior coach.
International
For Czechoslovakia Ťoupal took part in the U20 World Junior Championship in 1986 . He was also in his country's squad at the 1991 World Cup and the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville . At the 1992 Winter Games, he and his team won the bronze medal.
For the Czech Republic he took part in the 1993 World Cup , where he won the bronze medal with his team, and the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer . In total, inoupalin scored 13 goals in 79 international matches.
