The cyclists of the year from Denmark is an annual award that has been awarded since 1976th

The award is given by the Danish cycling association Danmarks Cykle Union and a sponsor. The active licensed drivers who can vote on five nominees decide on the award. Up to and including 1993, the award was reserved for amateur drivers.

The first prize winner was the team that won bronze in the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal in the 100 km team time trial .

Two drivers received the award three times: Alex Pedersen in 1984, 1987 and 1994, Michael Rasmussen in 1999, 2003 and 2005. Jan Bo Petersen , Henrik Djernis , Bo Hamburger , Hans-Henrik Ørsted , Dan Frost , Michael Marcussen and Bjarne Riis . Track foursome twice.
