Rainer Feuchter

Rainer Feuchter (* 1949 in Crailsheim ; † January 20, 2017 in Gelnhausen ) was a German high school teacher , restaurateur , hotelier and author .

Life

Rainer Feuchter spent his early childhood in the Rems Valley , before he first attended the Gisela-Gymnasium in Munich - Schwabing , in order to finally take his Abitur at the Kepler-Gymnasium Ulm in 1969 .

He then studied for teaching at primary and secondary schools at the University of Munich and at the University of Konstanz, as well as studying psychology in order to pass the first examination for teaching at primary and secondary schools in Weingarten, Baden-Württemberg in 1972 . In the same year he was appointed secondary school candidate in Baden-Württemberg. After his second examination for teaching at secondary schools in Baden-Württemberg, he became a secondary school teacher in 1973. A. appointed in Hanover . After the academic examination for the teaching post at grammar schools in Hanover, he was appointed trainee lawyer in 1975 .

In 1978, Feuchter let himself be dismissed from his civil service in order to manage the newly opened restaurant “Lila Kranz” in Hanover's Marienstraße 101 that same year . About six years later he moved his restaurant to Berliner Allee 33 , now under the name “Feuchter's lila Kranz”.

Feuchter, who had never completed a gastronomic training, developed his business into one of the most respected restaurants in Hanover. Rita Süssmuth campaigned for the President of the Hanover Chamber of Commerce and Industry to ensure that Feuchter was allowed to train apprentices as an unskilled chef in his company: In 1988, Feuchter received recognition of his professional qualifications as a cook and restaurant specialist, initially upon revocation.

Rainer Feuchter was a member of the “Round Table”, an association of Hanover's top chefs, and was able to win a total of two chef's hats in the Gault-Millau restaurant guide and three forks in the Michelin hotel and travel guide for his restaurants .

In 1992 he also took over the Hiller vegetarian restaurant on Blumenstrasse in the Hanover-Mitte district . In 1994 he also opened the Italian restaurant "Enrico Leone" in Hanover's Königstrasse.

After Feuchter had finally trained more than 500 apprentices in his company by 1998 , the then Federal Minister of Economics of the Federal Republic of Germany honored him with the award of a specially issued certificate .

In 2003 Rainer Feuchter emigrated to Spain in order to open the hotel "El Patio de Lajares" with restoration in the north of the Canary Island Fuerteventura .

In May 2016 Feuchter published the book The Somewhat Different Guest Book , in which he published anecdotes about his guests.

The first health problems became noticeable at the end of 2016; In mid-January 2017, Feuchter died of heart failure . Rainer Feuchter was buried in the close family circle in the family grave in Schrozberg . Soon after, his wife put the hotel on Fuerteventura up for sale.
