Rally Brazil
The Rally Brazil was held twice as a World Championship run (WRC) in 1981 and 1982 . The competition was held near São Paulo , Brazil , at Santa Isabel . Before that, the rally had already been held twice without World Championship status.
In 1981 Ari Vatanen won the rally in South America with co-driver David Richards in a Ford Escort RS1800. The lead was over eight minutes on Guy Fréquelin with Jean Todt in the passenger seat. Michèle Mouton secured victory in 1982 with an Audi Quattro ahead of Walter Röhrl ( Opel Ascona 400).
