Rally Indonesia

The Rally Indonesia was held twice as a World Championship run (WRC) in 1996 and 1997 . The rally was driven on gravel roads and should actually be driven in 1998 as well. Due to national unrest in the affected areas, the event had to be removed from the World Rally Championship calendar. Carlos Sainz won both competitions, once each on a Ford Escort RS Cosworth and once on a Ford Escort WRC.
