Ramón Alfredo moms (* 12. March 1899 in Buenos Aires ; † 12. January 1955 in Córdoba ) was an Argentine footballer who plays with the national team of his native country at the 1930 FIFA World Cup took part.

Career

Club career

Ramón Muttis began his football career in 1918 with the CD Santiago Wanderers club from the Chilean port city of Valparaíso . Just a year later, he returned to his home in Argentina without having won a title with the Wanderers and joined Club Atlético Atlanta , an association from the Villa Crespo district in the capital Buenos Aires . He stayed there for two years, from 1920 to 1922, before moving on to the Boca Juniors . With the club from the working-class neighborhood La Boca in Buenos Aires, founded in 1905 by Italian immigrants , Ramón Muttis won the Argentine championship in 1931 by taking first place in the table ahead of CA San Lorenzo de Almagro . At Boca he played together with other greats of Argentine football of the time such as Francisco Varallo , Roberto Cherro , Mario Evaristo , Domingo Tarasconi and Pedro Suárez . Despite or perhaps because of the success with the Boca Juniors and due to the fact that he was not necessarily the first choice for the Argentine champions, Ramón Muttis ended his career in 1932 at the age of 33. Four years later, in 1936, he returned to the football field and joined the Argentinos Juniors for a year , a club that was not one of the greats in Argentina at the time, but still played in the Primera División . After only one year with the Juniors, Muttis, now 38 years old, moved to Club Almagro for another year before ending his career.

National team career

Ramón Muttis made eleven appearances in the Argentine national soccer team . He took part in three major tournaments with the national team of his home country. He played his first tournament for Argentina at the Campeonato Sudamericano in 1925 , which the Argentine team won before Brazil . A year later , Muttis played his second continental championship. In Chile, however, Argentina only took second place behind Uruguay . In 1930 Ramón Muttis saw the culmination of his national team career, as he was appointed by national coach Francisco Olazar to join the Argentine squad at the 1930 World Cup , the first in history. At the tournament in Uruguay Argentina made it to the final, where they failed to host Uruguay 2: 4. Muttis played one game at the tournament, namely the South Americans' first game against France in Parque Central in Montevideo , which Muttis team won 1-0 with a goal from Luis Monti . After that he was no longer used. After the end of the World Cup, Ramón Muttis ended his national team career after eleven missions in which he failed to score.

Coaching career

After the end of his playing career, Ramón became mom's coach. During his activity as a soccer teacher, however, he only coached two clubs. In 1937 he was active as a player-coach at Club Almagro and three years later he coached the Argentinos Juniors. Then he withdrew from the football business.

Ramón Muttis died on January 12, 1955 at the age of 55 in Buenos Aires.
