Rammelfangen is a district of the municipality Wallerfangen in the district of Saarlouis ( Saarland ). Until the end of 1973 Rammelfangen was an independent municipality.

The place is in the north of the municipality on the Saargau .
history
The place was first mentioned in 1159 under the name Ramelvengen in a deed of donation from Archbishop Hillin of Trier .
As part of the Saarland regional and administrative reform , the previously independent municipality of Rammelfangen was assigned to the municipality of Wallerfangen on January 1, 1974 . Rammelfangen has been a district and a municipality since then.
In 1987 graves from the Merovingian period were discovered (590–600 AD).
