It is a district (municipality) of the municipality Wallerfangen in the district of Saarlouis ( Saarland ). By the end of 1973 was him an independent municipality.

geography

It is located in the Saargau on the Ihner Bach, which feeds the Ihner Weiher, which is the center of a popular local recreation area. The Roman cult site Sudelfels near the Ihner Weiher and the baroque church from 1726–32, whose tower has Romanesque and Gothic elements, is worth seeing .

history

The place Inna was first mentioned in a document in 950 in a list of places that were obliged to pilgrimage to Mettlach .

As part of the Saarland regional and administrative reform , the previously independent municipality of Ihn was assigned to the municipality of Wallerfangen on January 1, 1974 . Since then it has been a part of the village and, together with Leidingen, forms a municipality.

In 1999 the village fountain and the associated square were redesigned. In cooperation with the municipality of Wallerfangen , the beautification was largely carried out by the residents themselves. The sculpture "Brunnenbub" by the sculptor Astrid Hilt was specially designed and manufactured for this square.
