Randy Castillo
Randy Castillo (born December 18, 1950 in Albuquerque , New Mexico , † March 26, 2002 ; full name Randolpho Francisco Castillo ) was an American drummer .
Career
Randy first learned the trumpet and played in his father's band called Los Aguilas (Spanish for the eagles ). At 14 he switched to drums as he was a huge Charlie Watts fan . His first bands were The Sheltons, The Tabbs, Doc Rand, The Wumblies and The Purple Blues, but they differed widely from his later bands. At a concert he was discovered by Lita Ford and played several concerts with her. In 1986 he came to Ozzy Osbourne , which was probably his biggest station. After several breaks, 1995 was finally over. His last known station was the American cult rock band Mötley Crüe , where he replaced Tommy Lee for a year . However, he was discovered to have cancer and, like his Mexican father, died at the age of 51. At his funeral, former Guns-N'-Roses members Slash , Duff McKagan , Izzy Stradlin and Matt Sorum started a project that would later become the band Velvet Revolver .
