Read Rapper Rapper (since 2016) is a hip-hop - late-night talk show from Austria, representatives of the international hip-hop scene works of Rap literary reinterpret credit history.

Content and process

In the course of the evening events moderated by rapper Heinrich Himalaya and cabaret artist David Scheid, rap is separated from music and the focus is shifted to the written word, which creates space for new lyrics .

Four to five readers are invited per evening, who in turn prepare interpretations of existing song texts. In a conversation with the moderators, we first talk shop and discuss the current artistic work of the guests. Then the texts are read in front of an audience, whereby the artists are not allowed to use their own works.
