Rastislav Špirko (born June 21, 1984 in Vrútky , Czechoslovakia ) is a Slovak ice hockey player who has been under contract with HC Kometa Brno in the Czech extra league since October 2015 .
Career
Rastislav Špirko began his career as an ice hockey player at MHC Martin , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Slovak extra league in the 2002/03 season . In his rookie year , he scored 24 scorer points in a total of 54 games, including eleven goals. The winger then went to North America, where he first played for a year for Tri-City Storm in the junior league United States Hockey League . He then attended the University of North Dakota for two years , for whose ice hockey team he took part in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's game operations. With his university team he won the 2006 championship of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association . For the 2006/07 season he finally returned to MHC Martin in the Slovak Extra League .
For the 2007/08 season , Špirko moved to HC Slovan Ústečtí Lvi from the Czech extra league . With the previous year's climber he had to accept the direct relegation to the second-class first division . In this he also spent a large part of the 2008/09 season before joining the Extraliga participant HC Pardubice shortly before the end of the season . With HC Pardubice he was Czech champion in the 2009/10 season . He himself was elected player of the extra league, who had distinguished himself on and off the ice through exemplary behavior and fairness.
For the 2011/12 season , Špirko was obliged by HC Lev Poprad from the Continental Hockey League . He spent the following season at Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg and completed almost 60 KHL games for the club before moving to HK Spartak Moscow in May 2013 .
International
For Slovakia , Špirko took part in the U18 Junior World Championships in 2002 and the U20 Junior World Championships in 2003 and 2004 .
