history

On June 25, 2019, Real Madrid announced their intention to create a women's football section. For this purpose, an agreement was initially concluded with Madrid club CD Tacón , according to which the latter completed the 2019/20 season of the Primera División as an independent club, but with financial support from Real Madrid. In addition, CD Tacón was allowed to train in Ciudad Real Madrid and play his home games. Several well-known players were signed that season, including the Swedes Kosovare Asllani and Sofia Jakobsson , the British Chioma Ubogagu , the Brazilians Thaisa and Daiane and the German Babett Peter . On September 15, 2019, the Real Madrid Assembly of Delegates gave the green light for the incorporation of CD Tacón. Real Madrid's official entry into women's football took place on July 1, 2020.
