Redderse is a village and district of the city of Gehrden in the Hanover region in Lower Saxony .

history

The town of Redesen was first mentioned in a document from the Wennigsen monastery in 1230. It was created during the clearing phase of the Calenberger Land, which followed the death of Henry the Lion. Numerous fiefdoms were reassigned at that time in order to fill the power vacuum in the duchy. These triggered a wave of foundations east of the Deister, in which Redderse was also mentioned for the first time. The name probably goes back to an early extinct noble family of the von Redese who are said to have lived here and were among the fiefs.

The most important landlord was the Wennigs monastery as early as the 14th century, from which the abbot's staff in the local coat of arms is derived.

On August 1, 1971, the congregation merged to form the large community of Gehrden.

coat of arms

The design of the municipal coat of arms of Redderse comes from the heraldist and graphic artist Alfred Brecht , who created all the coats of arms in the Hanover region. The approval of the coat of arms was granted on November 28, 1961 by the district president in Hanover.

Redderse coat of arms
Blazon : "In green a golden abbot's staff , above it a silver scythe and a silver flail , both with golden stems."
Justification of the coat of arms: The unbroken relationship with the Wennigsen monastery runs like a red thread through the local history , which presumably was able to establish supremacy on the estate assigned to it by the lords "von Redese" and which has increased its property over the centuries. The abbot's staff and the rural implements scythe and flail offered themselves as characterizing symbols in the green field.
