Reichenbach is a Franconian church village that belongs to the Presseck market .

geography

The church village in the south-west of the Franconian Forest is one of 49 officially named parts of the municipality of the Presseck market in the north-eastern part of Upper Franconia . That at an altitude of 577  m above sea level. Reichenbach, located near the NHN , is about four and a half kilometers from Presseck to the east-south-east.

history

Until the beginning of the 19th century, Reichenbach was under the sovereignty of the Bamberg Monastery. The dominant village and community rule in the Franconian area for the sovereignty of the country was exercised by his office Wartenfels , as was the high jurisdiction . When the bishopric of Bamberg was secularized as a result of the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss 1802 and annexed by the Electorate Palatinate-Baiern in breach of the Reich constitution , Reichenbach became part of the New Bavarian territories that were forcibly taken over during the "Napoleonic land consolidation" .

As a result of the administrative reforms in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century , Reichenbach became a rural community with the Second Community Edict in 1818 , which also included the village of Altenreuth , the former hamlet of Schmölz and the now- defunct Teichbühl desert . In the course of the municipal territorial reform in Bavaria in the 1970s, the municipality of Reichenbach , which was expanded in 1972 to include the hamlet of Haid , was incorporated into the municipality of Wartenfels at the beginning of 1976 . Two years later, Reichenbach was incorporated into the Presseck market together with the municipality of Wartenfels. In 1987 the village had 156 inhabitants.

traffic

The district road KU 24 coming from Altenreuth runs through the village and continues via Kunreuth to Presseck. By public transport Reichenbach is on the bus line 8352 of the Omnibus Franken GmbH served. The next train stations are the Kronach train station and the current terminus of the Münchberg – Selbitz railway line in Helmbrechts .

In Reichenbach there are two listed objects, including a Marter located about 200 meters northwest of the village, which is executed as a cast iron crucifix on a granite stele.
