The Reichstag constituency Pfalz (Bavaria) 6 was a constituency for the Reichstag elections in the German Empire from 1868 to 1918.
General
The Reichstag constituency Pfalz (Bavaria) 6 (also called Reichstag constituency Kaiserslautern-Kirchheimbolanden) comprised the cities of Kaiserslautern and Kirchheimbolanden as well as the surrounding district offices . The constituency had an area of 1235.82 square kilometers and in 1871 109,269 inhabitants (88.41 inhabitants / km²). In 1910 the population was 157,482 (127.43 inhabitants / km²). Confessionally, the proportion of Protestants was significantly higher than that of Catholics. In 1871 (1910) the proportion of Catholics was 29.2% (28.6%) and that of Protestants 72.7% (69.3%). The constituency was rural. 58% of the population lived in places with fewer than 2000 inhabitants.
