Substitute election 1902
Since von Puttkamer had resigned his seat, there was a replacement election on April 3, 1902. The conservative electoral association in Marienburg coordinated with the BdL and named the provincial chairman of the BdL as a candidate. Elbing's conservative electoral association refused and instead named Prince Dohna-Schlobitten as a candidate. Since he rejected the candidacy and the procedure was commented negatively in the conservative press, Elbing then also supported the candidate Oldenburg. There was only one ballot. The number of eligible voters was 30,352 and the number of votes cast 18,461 of which 62 were invalid. The turnout was 60.8%.

1912
The split between the conservative electoral associations in Marienburg and Elbing had intensified. In May 1909, the conservative electoral association in Elbing was renamed the "Fatherland Workers' Association". The main goal was to prevent Oldenburg from being a member of parliament, to weaken the influence of the BdL and to reject the financial reform. In order to implement these goals, the "Patriotic Electoral Association" was formed in January 1910 for the Elbing and Marienburg districts from the Elbing Conservatives, the NLP and well-known personalities from the Ostmark Association, the Evangelical Association and the Farmers Association. The City Forestry Council Schöder was nominated by the Reich Party as a candidate. This was also supported by the FVP. Center and FoVP called for the election of Oldenburg.
There were two ballots. The number of eligible voters was 33,054 and the number of votes cast in the first ballot was 27,065, of which 68 were invalid. The turnout was 81.9%.

In the runoff election, it came down to the votes of the social democratic voters. However, there was no agreement, as both candidates feared that an alliance with the SPD would scare off their own voters. The SPD called for strict abstention. The number of votes cast in the runoff was 27,675 of which 851 were invalid. The turnout was 83.7%.
