The constituency of the German Reich.

The Reichstag constituency province West Prussia - administrative district Marienwerder 1 (constituency 23; constituency Stuhm-Marienwerder ) was a constituency for the Reichstag elections in the German Reich and the North German Confederation from 1867 to 1918.

The cartel parties had chosen Müller as a common candidate. Poland and the center had also decided on a common candidate. There were two ballots. The liberals called for Müller to be elected in the runoff election. In the runoff ballot, the number of votes cast was 16,995, of which 42 were invalid. The turnout was 85.7%. The result was the following:

Substitute election 1891

After his appointment as Reichsbank syndic, Georg Müller resigned his mandate and there was a replacement election on April 23, 1891. NLP, Conservatives and Liberals wanted to set up Arthur Hobrecht first . This did not succeed and therefore an agreement was reached on District Administrator Wessel. However, the NLP did not endorse this proposal. There was a ballot. The number of votes cast was 12,233 of which 47 were invalid.

Replacement election 1892

The replacement election took place on November 28, 1892, because Max Wessel had resigned after his promotion to police chief of Danzig. The German Conservatives and the Free Conservatives could not agree on a common candidate. The free conservatives rejected Max Wessel because he was an opponent of Zedelitz's school design. The rift went so far that some free conservatives called for the election of the Polish candidate in the runoff election. There were two ballots. The number of eligible voters was 20,135 and the number of votes cast in the first ballot 14,067 of which 28 were invalid. The turnout was 69.9%. The result of the first ballot was as follows:
