Reinhard Lendwai (born October 13, 1966 ) is an Austrian chess player .

successes

Single successes

In 1988 he won the Austrian championship in blitz chess , in 1989 the Carasaxa blitz tournament and, playing for Lower Austria, the board scoring at the Austrian national team championship. In 1990 he won the Flötzersteig Open, and in 1991 in Sankt Lambrecht the Austrian State Championship . In 1992 he won the 16th Christmas Open in Zurich ahead of Ivan Nemet . In 1993 Reinhard Lendwai was seventh at the zone tournament in Graz , which was won by Eric Lobron . In 1995 he won the 1st Perchtoldsdorf Defense Tower Active Chess Open at Perchtoldsdorf Castle in April and the Vienna City Championship in Blitzschess in May , which was held in the former Baumgartner Casino in Penzing . In 1998 he won the A tournament of the 1st Vösendorfer Open in Schloss Vösendorf , and in 2000 the A tournament of the 11th Flötzersteig Open , also in the former Baumgartner Casino in front of Nikolaus Stanec . In 2001 Lendwai won the Vienna City Championship, in 2003 the Blitz tournament of the Burgenland ASVÖ State Cup in Wulkaprodersdorf , in June 2004 the Währinger active chess tournament in Vienna- Währing , and in July he was again Austrian Blitzmeister in Hartberg . In May 2008 he won the A tournament of the 2nd Salzkammergut Chess Open in Bad Ischl and in August the A tournament of the anniversary open for the 75th birthday of SZ Favoriten in Vienna. In 2010 he won the Währinger rapid chess tournament.

National team

For the Austrian national team, Reinhard Lendwai, known as Urwiener, played on the first reserve board at the European Team Championships in Haifa in 1989 and on the fourth board in Gothenburg in 2005 and on the third board at the 1996 Chess Olympiad in Yerevan . He was nominated for the 2006 Chess Olympiad in Turin , but had to cancel due to illness.

With Nuschei , for example, he won the Vienna Operational Championship in 2002/03, 2003/04 and 2006/07. At the European Club Cup Lendwai took 1993 Merkur Graz , 1995 Margareten Vienna , 2005 Sparkasse Schwarzach and in 2011 and 2013, with the SK Advisory Invest Baden part.
