The Reitbergsiedlung , with Loitharting , is a settlement between the Salzburg Lake District and the Salzburg Pre-Alps in the State of Salzburg , and part of the municipality of Eugendorf in the Salzburg-Umgebung district .

geography

The place is about 2 kilometers east of Eugendorf, at around 580  m above sea level. A. on the L103  Thalgauer Landesstraße , which runs parallel to the A1  West Autobahn , a few 100 meters south.

The settlement comprises around 150 buildings and extends along the street, around the junction of the L254  Reitbergstraße (south over the hill of the Schwaighofenberg to Unterkoppl ), and into the valley of the Knutzingbach in the north.

history

Originally there was only one farm on the Poststrasse to Thalgau, the Haging and the Reitlochgut , and on the other side of the brook the Loitharting von Knutzing homestead . The meadows above were called road land , those towards the stream were called ox meadows . The Salzkammergut local railway was built here until 1891 . In 1958, the western autobahn, which had been started up to Zilling from 1938, was built and the local railway was dismantled at the same time. The old Ischlerbahn route is still preserved here and runs straight through the settlement as a road. Since then the place has started to grow, the Loitharting settlement was built on the brook and the Reitbergsiedlung on the road . Today both are completely grown together, and it has even become common to simply call the location Reitberg - the actual old Reitberg homestead is above the L254, today behind the motorway.
Around 2005 the golf course Eugendorf (Golfclub Salzburg Championcourse Eugendorf) was built east of the village, an 18-hole course.

The settlement is regularly affected by thunderstorms with heavy rain, particularly bad in summer 2007 and in July of the thunderstorm summer 2012.
