Remmelberg is a district of Theisseil in the Neustadt an der Waldnaab district in the Bavarian administrative district of Upper Palatinate .

Geographical location

Remmelberg is 3 km east of Letzau and 4.4 km southeast of Theisseil. State road 2166 runs 1 km southwest of Remmelberg . To the west of Remmelberg rises the 618 m high stone wood. The Schammesriether Bach flows east of Remmelberg and flows into the Sandbach 700 m east of Remmelberg. The Sandbach flows into the Luhe 1 km southeast of Remmelberg.

history

In the middle of the 13th century Remmelberg belonged to the rule of the Waldthurnians . Remmelberg (also Remelberg, Rimilberch ) was mentioned in 1261 when the brothers Berthold and Ulrich von Waldthurn and Heinrich von Pleystein left goods there to the Waldsassen monastery . Ulrich von Hostau , Gottfried and Friedrich von Waldthurn renounced 2 farms in Remmelberg in favor of the Waldsassen monastery in 1271, 1272 and 1273. The landgraves of Leuchtenberg Ulrich II and Johann I acquired 4 farms in Remmelberg in 1352. In 1452 interest income from Remmelberg went to the St. Ulrich Church in Michldorf . In the interest register of 1454 there were 2 persons liable to pay interest in Remmelberg for the Pleystein Nursing Office.

In 1596 Remmelberg belonged to the Pleystein Nursing Authority. In the 18th century Remmelberg belonged to the 1st quarter of the Pleystein nursing office. Remmelberg had 9 properties, 3 courtyards, 1 fiefdom and 1 shepherd's house. 4 teams in Remmelberg belonged to the manor and the lower court of the Waldthurn manor. Tithe rights in Remmelberg went to the parish of Michldorf, the parish of Lennesrieth and the Waldsassen monastery.

With the formation of the tax districts in 1808, Letzau became a tax district. The tax district Letzau consisted of the localities Letzau, Remmelberg and Schammesrieth.

In 1821 Remmelberg became a rural municipality. The rural community Remmelberg consisted of Remmelberg and Schammesrieth with 9 families each. In 1830 the municipality of Remmelberg was incorporated into the municipality of Letzau.

As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , Letzau was merged with Edeldorf and Roschau in 1972 to form the newly formed municipality of Theisseil.
