history
In 1553 the forest was named "Die Höll" near Letzau in a contract between Ulrich von Heideck and Willibald von Wirsberg zu Waldthurn.
A mill in Letzau, which means Höllmühle, was already mentioned in the statistical descriptions of 1630, 1666, 1743 and 1806.
Oberhöll and Höllmühle are often used synonymously. At the beginning of the 19th century, however, Höllmühle belonged to Letzau, while Oberhöll belonged to Muglhof .
Oberhöll belonged to the Muglhof tax district formed in 1808. The tax district Muglhof consisted of the villages Matzlesrieth , Muglhof, Oedenthal and the desert areas of Ober-, Mitter- and Unterhöll .
When the community was formed in 1821, Höllmühle and a family belonged to the Letzau community. Oberhöll with two families belonged to the Muglhof community. The community Muglhof consisted of the villages Muglhof with 25 families, Mitterhöll with 20 families, Oberhöll with two families and Unterhöll with 25 families.
In 1838 the Weiden district court was established in the Upper Palatinate . Oberhöll and the municipality of Letzau came from the Vohenstrauß regional court to the Weiden regional court. As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , Letzau was merged with Edeldorf and Roschau in 1972 to form the newly formed municipality of Theisseil.
