René Böttcher (* 1979 in Dresden ) is a German actor , director and theater educator . Since 2004 he has been the director of the state-recognized, private drama school in Siegburg and the associated private theater , the Siegburg studio stage .

Life

René Böttcher grew up in his native Dresden. After his school education, he completed an acting and directing training at the theater school Bongôrt von Roy in Siegburg , North Rhine-Westphalia , which is located near Bonn . He had various engagements as an actor in Leipzig and Koblenz .

When the director of the Siegburger Theaterfachschule, Wolf Bongôrt von Roy (actually Wolf Bongort-von Roy ; 1942–2006) retired from Siegburg at the end of 2004 , Böttcher took over the school and continued it as the drama school he founded in Siegburg . The former headmaster Bongôrt von Roy went to Leipzig in 2004 with some of the teachers to attend  the theater factory Bongôrt-v. At the off-theater Theaterfabrik-Sachsen , which he founded in 2001/2003 . To bring Roy to life. Böttcher took over at the same time as artistic director , the artistic director of belonging to the school teaching stage, the newly formed also by him Studiobühne Siegburg . The Siegburg private drama school, which has since been run by René Böttcher together with the actress and director Maike Mielewski, is state-recognized as a vocational school for performing stage arts in the form of a so-called supplementary school and regularly trains actors. The registered association Theaterschatz e.V. is responsible for the school as well as the attached Siegburg studio stage and the Tollhaus theater. V. whose board of directors is Böttcher. The sponsoring association is recognized as a non-profit organization and is based in Siegburg.

In addition to managing the drama school and the studio stage, Böttcher works at the school as a theater pedagogue for drama and scene work and also takes over the directing of productions in-house on various occasions , which are regularly shown at the Siegburg studio stage and sometimes also in guest performances at other theaters. For example, Böttcher took over the direction of Peter Turrini's one-person play Endlich Ende (2006), with which he was invited to a guest performance at the Theater am Schlachthof in Neuss , in the Greek tragedy Agamemnon after Aeschylus (2007/2008), in the classic fairy tales Die Snow Queen by Hans Christian Andersen (2007/2008) and The Cold Heart by Wilhelm Hauff (2011/2012), and in the comedy Ein Traum von Hochzeit by Robin Hawdon (2011). In the 2012/2013 season, Böttcher directed the two-person drama norway.today by Igor Bauersima , which brought numerous sold-out performances to the studio stage and with which he was invited to the Arkadaş Theater - Stage of Cultures in Cologne .

In his own production, directed by Maike Mielewski, Böttcher played Kalle König in the one-person play Alone in the Sauna by Frank Pinkus . The "cabaret-comedic monologue for an actor", so the subtitle of the play, premiered in early 2013 and has so far had numerous performances at the Siegburg studio stage in the 2013/2014 season.

2017 wrote Böttcher the theses "95 Theses against school." In it, Böttcher calls for a departure from compulsory schooling and a move towards a civil right to freedom of education . The theses are aimed at school-age people.
