The Retina Nebula is a planetary nebula in the constellation Wolf . The catalog name is IC 4406 .
You can see a toroidal ring that can be seen from the side from Earth. This is interspersed with fine black lines (therefore retina), which form the border area between the gas and dust clouds emitting in the visible light and in the radio range.
