IC 4399 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sb in the constellation Bootes the northern sky . It is estimated to be 489 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 160,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 5553 , IC 4395 , IC 4397 , IC 4405 .
The object was discovered by Guillaume Bigourdan on June 23, 1889 .
