IC 4409 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sab in the constellation Bootes the northern sky . It is an estimated 463 million light years from the Milky Way and about 110,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy IC 4403 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on July 3, 1896 .
