IC 4427 is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type Sab with extensive star formation areas in the constellation Bear Guardian in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 407 million light years from the Milky Way and about 95,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 5635 , IC 4423 , IC 4425 , IC 4436 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on June 21, 1895 .
