IC 4427 is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type Sab with extensive star formation areas in the constellation Bear Guardian in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 407 million light years from the Milky Way and about 95,000 light years in diameter.

In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 5635 , IC 4423 , IC 4425 , IC 4436 .

The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on June 21, 1895 .
