IC 4447 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type SB0-a in the constellation Bear Guardian in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 194 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 70,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky there are u. a. the galaxies NGC 5639 , NGC 5642 , NGC 5653 , IC 1012 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on July 9, 1896 .
