IC 4449 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBb in the constellation Bear Guardian north of the ecliptic , which is an estimated 813 million light years away from the Milky Way .
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy IC 1015 .
The object was discovered by Royal Harwood Frost on May 10, 1904 .
