Course of the road in the Rheingauviertel

The center of the local situation, which is relevant for the residents, is the Rüdesheimer Platz , which was planned and laid out around 1905 by Georg Haberland under aesthetic aspects in the English country house style. The development with a uniform and yet individual architectural style is considered an exemplary early form of relaxed construction in the countryside. The green area of the square with its flower borders is a little lower and is a small recreation area in the middle of the city due to the old trees. The 1911 by Emil Cauer the Elder is located on Rüdesheimer Strasse . J. designed system of the Siegfriedbrunnen . The entire area around the square was designated as a "Protected Building Area with a Garden Monument " in 1988 .

Rüdesheimer Strasse is one of the twelve most beautiful streets in Europe for the New York Times .

In the northeast area there are single-family houses from the first half of the 20th century. In the western part of the Rheingauviertel , the Schlangenbader Strasse motorway development built in the early 1970s runs through . This complex represents a strong architectural contrast to the surrounding buildings.

The full length of the subway line U3 passes under the location ( Heidelberger Platz , Rüdesheimer Platz and Breitenbachplatz stations ). The main traffic artery for individual traffic is Wiesbadener Straße.

Since 1972 there has been a sponsorship between the Wilmersdorf district and the Rheingau-Taunus district , a partnership since 1991. Since 1967, winegrowers from the Rheingau-Taunus district have been building the Rheingau wine fountain each year on Rüdesheimer Platz , with one wine and sparkling wine Wooden hut to be offered out. A resident has been taking legal action against this since 2014, but was subject to the main proceedings in 2016.
