biography

After elementary and secondary school in Maurach am Achensee , Haaser attended the ski school in Saalfelden . She achieved her first successes on a national level in 2006 and 2008, when she was Austrian school champion five times. After reaching the age limit, Haaser took part in FIS races for the first time in winter 2008/2009 . At the European Youth Olympic Festival 2009 in Szczyrk she was tenth in the giant slalom. After being accepted into the junior team of the Austrian Ski Association , she won her first FIS race in a super combination in Haus im Ennstal in January 2010 . In the same month she won her first of three Austrian youth championship titles and in March 2010 she won the school world championships in Folgaria with four schoolmates .

In the winter of 2010/2011, Haaser made her first appearance in the European Cup , where she once finished in the points. After being accepted into the ÖSV-B squad, she played her first full European Cup season in 2011/12 . After initial placements, she was able to improve her results partly outside the points scoring towards the end of the season and on February 14, 2012 she achieved her first podium with second place in the super combined at Sella Nevea , which also secured her second place in the discipline classification. When she first took part in a Junior World Championship in Roccaraso in 2012 , Haaser finished twelfth in the Super-G and, with her teammates, fourth in the team competition, which was held for the first time. In slalom and giant slalom she was eliminated.

After a less than successful 2013/14 season, she achieved two podium places in European Cup races at the beginning of winter 2014/15. On January 6th and 7th, 2015, she celebrated her first two European Cup victories in the giant slalom in Zinal . After another victory in Innichen , she suffered a broken ankle in her right foot during slalom training on February 13, which ended the season prematurely. Nevertheless, she was able to secure first place in the overall European Cup ranking and in the giant slalom ranking, as no competitor was able to catch up with her.

Haaser won his first World Cup points on November 27, 2015 when he was 24th in the giant slalom in Aspen . She achieved her best result so far on March 13, 2016 with 10th place in the combination of Lenzerheide . In the next season she was able to equalize this result in the giant slalom on Semmering and in the downhill and Super-G in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . In February 2017, Haaser took part in a world championship for the first time in St. Moritz and finished ninth in the combination. In the team competition, it was not used. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , she started in the giant slalom and finished 17th. After one of her statements after the race was criticized as anti-gay, she was forced to make a public apology.
