Richard Hamilton (actor)

Richard Hamilton (born December 31, 1920 in Chicago , Illinois , † December 21, 2004 in New York ) was an American film and stage actor and radio announcer.

Life and career

Born in Illinois, Hamilton grew up in California, where he attended Pasadena Junior College and gained his first acting experience at the Pasadena Playhouse . He also worked on various radio stations on the West Coast before moving to New York, where he appeared in off-Broadway and Broadway theaters. Among other things, he appeared in Sam Shepard's 1979 Pulitzer Prize- winning play Buried Child .

Since the 1960s, Hamilton has also appeared in television and cinema productions. One of his most memorable roles he had an old Agent Dee in the sci-fi comedy Men in Black alongside Tommy Lee Jones .

Hamilton died in December 2004 at his home in the Catskill Mountains . He left behind his wife, Marilyn Morgan Hamilton, with whom he was married for 50 years, as well as a daughter and a son.
