Richard Harrison (born May 26, 1935 in Salt Lake City , Utah ) is an American actor .

Life

Harrison moved to California in the early 1950s , where his good looks and his work as a bodybuilder took him to various covers of well-known magazines. In Santa Monica he started out as an actor on small stages and on television. Soon - his marriage to the daughter of the film producer James H. Nicholson was also helpful - smaller roles in Hollywood productions followed. After a few years he moved to Italy, where he was offered leading roles in sandal films and he quickly developed into a minor star.

He could not be tied to one genre and appeared in spaghetti westerns as well as in agent and war films . After Italian film production fell into a serious crisis in the mid-1980s, Harrison made a number of low-budget action films with Godfrey Ho in Hong Kong , most of which were ninja films, but which were cut and pasted from existing films using the so-called cut and paste process newly filmed scenes were cut together and resynchronized . Harrison blamed Ho and his production methods, as well as the frequent reuse of the scenes shot with him, for the decline of his career. In total, Harrison starred in around 130 films. He seldom appeared as a screenwriter and director. He was also involved in two productions as a producer.

Richard Harrison was married twice; from his first marriage there were three children, from his since 1978 with the Italian actress Maria Francesca Pomentale (stage name Daria Norman ) another second. Harrison has since retired from the film business and lives in California.
