Her sculptures often deal on a meta-level with sociological or cultural structures with reference to architecture and design . The exemplary object group of middle managers should be emphasized . These are industrially manufactured, minimal objects modeled on German power boxes, all of which have typical German first names such as Rolf or Günther . They represent those art officials or curators in middle positions who have little expertise and who can block the path to more important or interesting museums for artists. With these works McBride subverts the art business . Produced in large numbers, they find great sales among collectors and gallery owners. She mainly conceives her work at her place of residence in Düsseldorf, but they are manufactured in factories around the world. In spring 2016, the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf will host its first solo exhibition in its second hometown since 2003.
