The canton of Pontarlier is a French constituency in the Doubs department in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It includes ten communities in the Arrondissement of Pontarlier and has its main town (French: bureau centralisateur ) in Pontarlier . As part of the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons, it was significantly reduced in size in spring 2015.

Until the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons in March 2015, the canton of Pontarlier included the 24 municipalities of Bannans , Bouverans , Chaffois , Dommartin , Doubs , Granges-Narboz , Houtaud , La Cluse-et-Mijoux , La Planée , La Rivière-Drugeon and Les Fourgs , Les Grangettes , Les Hôpitaux-Neufs , Les Hôpitaux-Vieux , Malbuisson , Malpas , Montperreux , Oye-et-Pallet , Pontarlier , Saint-Point-Lac , Sainte-Colombe , Touillon-et-Loutelet , Verrières-de-Joux and Vuillecin . Its layout corresponded to an area of 314.13 km 2 . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 2520.
