Robert Jung (born September 11, 1935 in Niederlindewiese , Czechoslovakia ; † March 22, 2015 ) was a German music producer , lyricist , composer and singer.

Life

After graduating from school, Robert Jung learned the trade of wholesaler , but soon also worked as a columnist for various magazines on the subjects of entertainment, shows and new records. As a teenager he founded the band "Die Nachtfalter", with which he played and sang on weekends. He started composing and writing lyrics. He came to show business through Max Greger and met the composer Ralph Siegel . His first great success was in 1970 the text for the title by Ralph Siegel for Peggy March Once in love, always in love .

In 1980 he discovered 15-year-old Nicole , for whom he wrote her first big hit Flieg not too high, my little friend , the following year . Robert Jung introduced Nicole to Ralph Siegel, who wrote the title A Bit of Peace for her together with Bernd Sichter , with which she won the 1982 Eurovision Song Contest . Robert Jung was the producer of the recording. In total, he produced over 200 titles with her.

Robert Jung wrote lyrics and music for around 3000 songs, many of which are among the most successful evergreens of German hit music . Among his best-known interpreters were Vico Torriani ( La Pastorella , music by Walter Geiger), Peter Alexander , Gitti & Erika ( music comes from Bohemia ), Angela Wiedl (but the heartbeat ... I owe it to you ), Mireille Mathieu ( waltz of the Love ), the Kastelruther Spatzen ( Monte d'Amore ) and the Nockalm Quintet ( The Miracle of Piraeus ). Time and again, his homeland was the theme of his songs, which he often sang himself, especially his Silesian homeland, which he had to leave as a child. He received over 50 gold records .

Robert Jung had been married to his wife Rosie since 1964. From this marriage the daughters Melanie Manstein and Dagmar and the son Robert emerged. The family had lived in Baldham near Munich since 1970 and owned a house in Bardolino on Lake Garda .
