Robin Edge
Robin Rand (* 1957 in Newfoundland , Canada ) is a general in the United States Air Force (USAF) and has been in command of the Air Education and Training Command (AETC), a main command of the US Air Force based on the Randolph, since October 10, 2013 Air Force Base , Texas .
Education and career
Rand was born in 1957 the son of a member of the Air Force in the Canadian Newfoundland and closed the US Air Force Academy , Colorado , in 1979 with a Bachelor as an aerospace engineer from.
In addition to various advanced training courses and courses, Rand's further training includes two master’s degrees in aerospace engineering (1988) and in security policy (1998). As a pilot, graduated edge throughout his career more than 5,000 flying hours, primarily on the patterns F-16 , T-37 and T-38 .
Service in the rank of general
In January 2006, the brigadier promoted commanding margin from July 2006 to July 2007 the 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing at Balad Air Base in Iraq . Between August 2007 and August 2009 he then served as Principal Director for Middle East Policy at the Pentagon in Washington, DC , from June 2009 onwards with the rank of major general . He was then Director, Legislative Liaison and Adjutant to the Vice Chairman of the General Staff of the US Air Force between August 2009 and December 2011 .
In December 2011, Rand became the under carriage of Lieutenant General to the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base , Arizona , mixed, where he said US Southern Command imputed 12th Air Force commander.
On June 28, 2013, US President Barack Obama nominated Rand to succeed Edward A. Rice as Commander of the Air Education and Training Command ; Rand took command on October 10 of the same year, his promotion to general took place as part of the transfer of command.
