history

Local history

The first recorded place name form dates from 1350 as Rorbach . In 1524 the towns of Belgershain, Köhra, Lindhardt, Rohrbach and Threna formed the manor of Belgershain, and in the same year the village became part of the Köhra parish. In 1556, Dippold von Schönfeld was given the ownership of Belgershain. In 1616 the Rohrbach inheritance book counts: 6 horse men, 10 rear people, 3 cottagers, 1 bar, 1 pond master and the stately water mill. The "mill revision" in 1681 says:

Belonging "to Rohrbach under the electoral Chamberlain, Mr. Hans von Ponickau, is a mill pond of two courses ... hierbai is also a sawmill there. A first mill was on the Göselfurt. "

In 1822 August Schumann mentions Threna in the State, Post and Newspaper Lexicon of Saxony concerning a. a .:

“[...] belongs to the ½ hour northwest of the Uechteritz manor Belgershayn with higher courts and hereditary courts . […] The inhabitants, 140-150 in number, in about 30 houses, subsist almost exclusively on the farm, for which they have 10 ½ hooves of mediocre, sometimes very good, especially very good fields for growing clover and rape : also the great and excellent meadows favor cattle breeding very much. In 1782 there were 88 people over 10 years old, 14 horses and 93 cows. - The local church is the branch from the […] Mater to Köhra , and the local schoolmaster is also responsible for the local school; [...]. "

Furthermore, it says in the work "New Saxon Church Gallery" from 1911 a. a .:

"The schoolhouse is very old" and if the circumstances are fortunate, a new one should be built, "reports the old Saxon church gallery as early as 1840. A new schoolhouse has not yet been built. - The limited space in the old schoolhouse, which is not very modern, means that the teachers have recently started looking for other places with better apartments. "

In 1935 the Rohrbacher ponds, with an area of 78.56 hectares, were declared a natural monument. On December 6, 1957, 6 farmers with 42 hectares of land joined together to form the “Neuer Weg” LPG , and on January 1, 1970, this was merged with the LPG in Belgershain.

In 1965 Rohrbach was incorporated into Belgershain. In 1967 the Rohrbacher ponds received the status of a nature reserve.

The Rohrbach Church

Village church

A church building in Rohrbach is mentioned for the first time in an inventory list from 1580. In the work “Neue Sächsische Kirchengalerie” from 1911 it says concerning the local church a. a .:

“We know next to nothing about the Rohrbach church from earlier times. [...] The time of construction of the old church, which stood on the churchyard in 1897, is also not entirely certain. Its flag bore the year 1708; likewise a stone on which the old pulpit stood. Those two pewter flower pots signed MOB 1708 [...] also suggest that the church, which was torn away in 1897, was built in 1708. A major repair was carried out in 1741 […] as well as a minor repair in 1773! In 1821 a “ positive ” was bought into the “present church [...]. In autumn 1866 the church roof was renewed and other repairs made. […] In 1871 a used organ located in Mügeln was sold for 200 Tlr. acquired. […] The year 1897 saw the complete rebuilding of the current neat church. […] The last service in the old church was held on June 13, 1897, on the feast of Trinity. It was then torn down and the organ, pulpit and other inventory auctioned. A building site south of Dorfstrasse was sought for the new church. [...] The inauguration of the new church took place on [...] Sunday, January 30th, 1898. […] The organ, built by Kreutzbach in Borna, with two manuals , pedal and eight voices , cost 3,050 Mk. And was only consecrated on August 28, 1898 and given its intended purpose.

In 1917 the bells were removed and melted down for war purposes. In 1942, the large and medium bells of the newly acquired bells were melted down again due to the war. On May 1, 1949, Rohrbach became a sister community of Belgershain - this was already planned in 1931. In 1953 the church received the middle bell of the Köhraer peal and has only 2 bells to this day. In 1955 major repairs were made to the tower and church roof. In 1994 the interior and exterior facade were renovated and on May 1, 2004 the reconstructed organ was inaugurated.
