Rola (singer)
Rola Madirose Hinterbichler (* 12. February 1990 in Accra , Ghana ) is a German R & B - singer with Ghanaian roots. From 2005 to 2010 she was a member of the three- piece band Sistanova . Since then she has been working as a solo artist. In 2018 she released her first studio album.
Life
Rola Madirose Hinterbichler was born on February 12, 1990 in Accra , Ghana . Your parents are of different nationalities. At the age of three, she moved with them to Frankfurt am Main . Together with Kisita Elizabeth Massamba, she began to occupy herself with dancing and singing in a school after-school care center.
Career
2004–2012: Beginnings with Sistanova
In 2004 Rola and Massamba met the singer Viviane Meyer and founded the band Black Supremes. The Noizemakers production team then signed the band under the name Sistanova. In 2006 they signed a contract with Warner Music . The band released their first single What is the matter? on September 21, 2007. This reached the German single charts in October 2007 and stayed there for two weeks. In November 2007, they supported Rihanna on their Good Girl Gone Bad Tour in Germany. They were also the opening act for the band Rapsoul in Germany. Sistanova's first album is called Incredible and was released on December 5th, 2008. The chart was not successful. In 2010 the band broke up completely to concentrate on solo projects.
In 2011 Rola took part in the first season of The Voice of Germany . She entered the blind auditions with the song Wenn das Liebe ist by the band Glashaus and joined Rea Garvey's team . In the second round, the Battle Round, she sang the song Little Numbers by the band Boy together with Tiziana Belmonte . Garvey chose Belmonte and Rola had to leave the show.
2013–2017: First solo projects
In 2013 she published her first solo project. The EP Live was released on June 1, 2013 and contains two songs that were sung live by Rola. On October 4, 2013, the song Venus & Mars by the rapper Capo was released , to which Rola had contributed. The song appeared on Capo's album Hallo Monaco .
With Wake Me Up , the first single from their second EP Rot oder Blau was released in 2014 , which was released on March 20, 2015. This contains four new songs and a remix. In the same year, on October 31, 2015, the third EP 200km / h was released . This also contains four new songs.
In 2016, Rola was a guest musician on Chima's song Willkommen and Meezy's song Behind the Moon . At the end of the year she released the two singles Federfrei and Hell . In 2017 she was on the song Risk by Marvin Game. On December 15, 2017, the single Trumanshow was released , which was created while working on the first album.
2018–2020: First studio album 12:12 p.m. and other projects
On February 9, 2018, the song Akku leer was released , which she recorded together with rapper Olexesh as the first single from her first studio album 12:12 , which was released on September 14, 2018. Previously, she released four more singles with Zero Fcks , girlfriend with Wanja Janeva, Blender and Chilln with Reezy. She also shot music videos for all singles, which premiered on Youtube. The album and the singles were released under the Sony Music label . In the same year Rola could be heard on numerous songs by other rappers and singers.
Together with Manuellsen , Rola performed on November 30, 2018 at the music show The Dome . However, the appearance was not broadcast on television. The EP Xmas Tape was released on December 16, 2018 and contains four well-known Christmas carols that Rola sang. Together with Megaloh , the single How much love is missing was released in spring 2019 . At the same time, she had an advertising contract with Fanta . At the end of April 2019, Rola was on her first own tour.
Released in 2020 with Roli , No Homies and I do everything three new singles. She was also on the benefit song Are you awake? to hear who entered the German single charts at number 31.
