Roland was a car brand from Japan .

Brand history

Katsuo Kawamata started producing automobiles in 1930 . The brand name was Roland . It is not known when production ended. A total of around 20 vehicles were built.

Another source mentions the year 1931, the name Kazuo Kawamada, also 20 vehicles, and that the Tsukuba brand from Tōkyō Jidōsha Seizo is to be regarded as the successor from 1935.

The only model resembled a scaled-down Cord L-29 from Cord . A V2 engine with 27 HP power drove the front wheels.

Another source confirms the optical copy of the Cord and the front-wheel drive . Engines with 500 cm³ displacement and 19 HP power as well as 736 cm³ displacement and 18 HP are mentioned. There was a choice of a roadster and a two-door Phaeton . The vehicles were 320 cm long.
