Fuji Jidōsha KK ( Japanese 富士 自動 車 株式会社 , English Fuji Motor Corporation ) was a manufacturer of motor vehicles from Japan .

Company history

The Fuji Jidōsha company was founded in Tokyo in 1948 . The production of motorcycles began. The brand names were Fuji and Gasuden . Between 1957 and 1958, automobiles were also made that were marketed as Fuji . In 1961 there were small commercial vehicles under the Gasuden brand ( ガ ス デ ン ) . Production ended in 1968. There was no connection with Fuji Heavy Industries , which manufactured the Fuji Rabbit scooter .

Based on the cooperation with Komatsu that had existed since 1962 , the company manufactured excavators from 1964, weed removal devices and grass trimmers from 1965 and agricultural and forestry equipment since then. In 1973 the name was changed to Zenoah KK and in 1979 to Komatsu Zenoah KK. On October 1, 2002, the company was dissolved and integrated into Komatsu.

The only car model was the Fuji Cabin . This was a three-wheeled microcar with the single wheel at the back. An air-cooled single cylinder - two-stroke engine with 123 cc displacement and 5.5 hp power drive to the rear wheel. The maximum speed was about 60 km / h. The closed body was made of fiberglass and offered space for two people. The single front headlight was striking . About 85 vehicles were built.

The commercial vehicles from 1961 had an engine with 360 cm³ displacement.

The motorcycles had both two- stroke and four-stroke engines with a capacity of 49 cm³ to 250 cm³.
